Scene that stuck out to me

The Empire Strikes Back, 1980, Irvin Kershner      One of the most popular movies in the Star Wars series is The Empire Strikes Back because of the scene where Luke Skywalker finally faces Darth Vader. The action/thriller movie is so important to the series because it is when Luke discovers that Darth Vader, his enemy, is actually his father. The angles and background really build the suspense and add to the action happening in this film. I don't think I would have done anything different to this scene, the camera moving from far away to show the action to close up to show the emotion of the characters in this crucial scene is perfect. If you were to watch the movies in chronological order you discover this piece of information earlier but this movie was released way before the others came out which made it better and put people on the edge of their seat for longer. Between the suspense of the battle or Luke almost dying, to the emotion of Luke finding out Darth Vader is ...

Dr. Caligari study questions

1. This story is about a man named Dr. Caligari and a man named Cesare. These two travel and make stops at carnivals saying Cesare can predict the future. Cesare accurately predicts the death of someone, soon after that other murders start to happen and people turn their eyes towards Cesare. Francis, the narrator, tries to figure out who is behind the murders.  2. The film uses flashbacks to tell the story, it occurs through Francis explaining the story jumping from past to present. The director also uses angles and lighting to portray a "dark" mood of the story.  3. The film uses dark lighting and minimal information to the audience which leaves us in suspense. With the use of camera angles and darker lighting it also gives off horror vibes to the audience.  4. In the end, the final plot twist is that nothing of the story was real and it was all in Francis' mind. Francis is in a mental hospital along with Cesare, while Dr. Caligari is the director of the hospital.  ...
