Get Out Review

                                                            Get Out, 2017, Jordan Peele 
I'm gonna start this review off by saying that Get Out is a great movie and anyone who hasn't seen it needs to. Jordan Peele is a great director and I love all his films. The 2017 horror/mystery who goes to his girlfriends home for the weekend when things go south. It turns out Chris, the main character, finds out his girlfriend Rose and her family lure in black men and switch their brain out with an elderly white person who pays the most. Chris's mission to escape is great and Peele does an awesome job and showing this journey. Daniel Kaluuya, who plays Chris, is one of my favorite actors and the way Peele uses close up shots with him are such amazing shots that transcends other films. Adding comedy into a horror film was a great idea and it really adds to this new genre of horror movies Peele is creating. I have seen Get Out multiple times and would give the movie a 9/10, this is my type of movie and am a huge fan of Jordan Peele. His other film Us was also a really good movie and would tell others to watch that is they enjoyed Get Out.

The Empire Strikes Back, 1980, Irvin Kershner      One of the most popular movies in the Star Wars series is The Empire Strikes Back because of the scene where Luke Skywalker finally faces Darth Vader. The action/thriller movie is so important to the series because it is when Luke discovers that Darth Vader, his enemy, is actually his father. The angles and background really build the suspense and add to the action happening in this film. I don't think I would have done anything different to this scene, the camera moving from far away to show the action to close up to show the emotion of the characters in this crucial scene is perfect. If you were to watch the movies in chronological order you discover this piece of information earlier but this movie was released way before the others came out which made it better and put people on the edge of their seat for longer.
